ARMADILLO Video software package is a real database for archiving, indexing and publishing videos.
ARMADILLO users can customize the software, for example by creating and modifying the structure of the documentary indexes (categories names and number), thesaurus and classification plan. The funds with various documentary structures can be managed and questioned simultaneously.
The collaborative work is made possible thanks to the documentary, physical and financial streams management modules.

Video files have some specific characteristics that differ them from other media.
Video funds are often structured hierarchically on two (video / sequence) to five levels (collection / film / sequence / media / copy).
Video files are bulky (up to hundreds of Go per file).

Specific video features

  • Sequencing: A sequence index database can be associated to a video index base. It is possible to create as many sequences as necessary for one video. Automatic sequencing tools, based on plan, frame or referent, can be integrated to the software. The structure of the documentary index of a sequence can be entirely customized. The sequence index can inherit of some of the video index information (name of the video, name of the producer, director, etc.) The sequence index has its own time code management. While viewing a streaming video, the user can define the beginning and the end of a sequence, and only order the part he has chosen. The sequences are memorized in baskets, that can be either used for ordering or for an instant indexing, by using captioning function.
  • Working with video rushes: The general function of group indexing with propagation of common values on a group of recordings makes working with video rushes easier. These values can be then re injected into XML caps of the MXF files used in editing. To make this operation even easier, ARMADILLO Video controls the videos through the control frames in the documentary index.
  • Import: The user can launch a video navigation application directly from the client interface of ARMADILLO Video. The import of files and sub-files as well as the periodicity of indexing (every X hours, starting at X hour) can be controlled by the software. Our software offers video controls: read, pause, stop, fast forward, rewind, time code in and time code out and a doubloon control.
