Hosting rooms' characteristics

ARMADILLO hosts solutions in the secured hosting rooms of 400 m2, located in Velizy (78). These rooms have the necessary secured equipment (floor resistance, EDF double adduction, three air conditioning units, fire detection and suppression system, video monitoring and volumetric alarm, armoured access room with a double visual validation andaccess control by swipe cards).

Network and bandwidth

The connectivity offer relies on a network for the IP identified by AS 13001 number and COGENT transit supplier, world sixth operator that guarantees:

• network availability timing superior to 99,99 % over a month time (less than five-minute network inaccessibility per month);
• inside-Europe network latency of 35 ms or less and transatlantic latency of 85 ms or less;
• packet loss rate inferior to 0,1 %.

Technical support, surveillance and reporting

• network and traffic monitoring and email technical support 24 / 7 / 365, by phone Monday to Friday 9 : 00 am - 7 : 00 pm;
• distant reboot through the web interface;
• regular software and OS updates;
• distributing information of the security updates.

Measures of protection against intrusion

• the bandwidth is protected by the firewall called « statefull » (filtering of the IP packets assembled to the connections status followup);
• the Linux core (Kernel) is secured;
• the advanced management of the access rights offers the possibility of using ACL (access control list);
• the Grisoft AVG 7 anti-virus solution is parametered on each server for a daily update.

Dedicated guaranteed bandwidth

The bandwidth, full duplex is dedicated and guaranteed. No physical reorganization is needed up to 100 Mbps. Beyond this volume, it is necessary to move to a physical Gigabit link or optical fiber.

Armadillo solutions

The access to the back office is controlled by two consecutive identifications:

• TSE identification: server IP and login / password; this access allows to open a Windows user session with the restricted rights. To secure this first identification, the client office must be protected (firewall and anti-spy);
  
• identifying on application: the pair login / password allows opening a client session of the application in the back office with the rights liked to this session.

The login / password conditions the rights and features accessible to the users and administrators in the client / server local mode.
ARMADILLO manages the error messages (checksum error or other) that aborts client session by security measures.

Backup and retrieving

The data files can be exported and integrated to allow: partial or complete data backup and recovery, adding Armadillo indexes, importing text files and mapping functions with the fields from the database.
The original images are stocked by the user. If these images need to be downloaded, their copy is stocked on the server.
In such case a tape or a hard drive backup can be suggested. As an option, and in addition to the host room backup, the documentary database data is recovered weekly for a backup in the ARMADILLO office.

Architectures

Several architectures are possible:

• application server and web server on the same mutualized server;
• application server and web server on the same dedicated server;
• web server and application server on two dedicated servers. 

Optional services:

• storage of the original file on a RAID 5 or NAS server;
• streaming server;
• CTTRIX or TSE server for a distant rich client administration.
